Here’s My Story

Janelle Peterson

My name is Janelle Peterson, and yoga is my coffee in the morning.

Okay, it’s accompanied by coffee, but I need both of them to supercharge me for my day.

I started doing yoga when I was fifteen as a way to relax, which I needed between juggling AP classes and extracurriculars—I was a busy girl.

It relaxed me when I wanted it to, and it was intense if that’s what I needed.

I think that’s why I fell in love with yoga in the first place; it’s the most versatile activity that you can either do while meditating, or make it intense and work out so many different parts of your body.

I taught a few weekend yoga classes when I was eighteen, which turned into a full-time job while also striving for my BA in physical therapy.

It worked in tandem, because I could actually try out new things I’d learned, and do something that I love at the same time.

Now, I end up teaching different classes at four different spots in the greater Boston area, while working as a physical therapist to help people with total physical rehabilitation after accidents and surgeries.

Every day, I come home to my corgi and lab, try to relax with a bit of Netflix, take them on a walk, and spend the wee hours of the night creating content for Torc Yoga.

Between specific music for yoga, workout clothes, mats, gear and everything in between, I wanted to share my experience and knowledge with you.

You already know the health benefits of yoga, so let’s get you suited up, out on the mat, and active.
